"DwAynE wAdE"

I really like playing basketball. I first played the sport when I was still 5 yrs old. This sport was the first sport I have ever played in my whole life.

I watch television to see different basketball players show their skills in playing basket ball in their exhibition game. The most basketball players I like to watch are the NBA players. They are really good in playing the sport. They are very incredible.

My favorite basketball player is Dwyane Tyrone Wade, Jr. I don’t watch television always to see different games but if his team has a game, I watch the show and observe him. He’s my idol.

Dwyane Tyrone Wade, Jr. (born January 17, 1982) is an American NBA basketball player, currently of the Miami Heat. His nicknames include "Flash" and "D-Wade". Wade was named 2006 Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated. Despite the unorthodox spelling, Wade's first name is pronounced as Dwayne; often in print media, it is misspelled as such. Wade has become one of the more well-known and popular players in the league. He had the top selling jersey in the NBA for nearly two years, as he led the NBA in jersey sales from the 2005 NBA playoffs, until the mid point of the 2006-07 NBA season.

After entering the league with little fanfare as the fifth pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, Wade has become one of the more accomplished young players in the NBA today. After making the All-Rookie team in his first season, and the All-Star team the following two seasons, he led his team to an NBA Championship at the conclusion of his third pro campaign. Wade was named 2006 NBA Finals MVP as he led the Heat to a 4-2 series win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Dwyane Wade was born in the south side of Chicago to Dwyane Sr. and Jolinda Wade. He cites one of his older sisters, Tragil, as the individual most responsible for his childhood upbringing and for steering him in the proper direction. His parents divorced and he lived with his father and stepmother in Robbins, Illinois during his childhood. As a child growing up in the Chicago area Wade idolized former Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan, and has said he patterns his game after him.

Wade attended H. L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn. He did not see a lot of playing time his sophomore year as his stepbrother, Demetris McDaniel, was the star of the team. Wade grew four inches in the summer before his junior year and proceeded to average 20.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.] Wade then averaged 27.0 points and 11.0 rebounds his senior year, and led his team to a 24–5 record. They advanced to the title game of the Class AA Eisenhower Sectional, during the season he set school records for points (676) and steals (106) in a season.

He is such a great player. Even though he’s not as good as Michael Jordan and other legends in NBA history, he is still my idol and I know that he can be as good as those legends of NBA history

"SummAry Of mAx schuLmAn's LOv E is a fALLAcy"

The story “Love is a Fallacy” by Max Schulman is a story about a smart and intelligent 18 year old guy. He is also described as logical, keen, calculating, perspicacious, acute and astute. With these descriptions, we can say he is really an intelligent guy.

In the University, he has a roommate named Petey Bellows. They have the same background and the same age. But he describes him as dumb as an ok. Petey Bellows is also a nice enough fellow. Petey Bellows is unstable, impressionable and a faddist. One afternoon I found Petey Bellows with his distress looked face that the narrator diagnosed appendicitis. "Don't move," the narrator said. "Don't take a laxative. I'll get a doctor." Then, Petey mumbled “Raccoon”. Then the narrator asked Petey Bellows why Petey Bellows did say “Raccoon”. Petey Bellows said he wants a raccoon coat because all of the big men here in the campus are wearing them. The narrator said that raccoon coats are heavy and they smell bad but Petey didn't listen. He kept pleading that he has to have one. He'll do anything for it. Then, the narrator came up with a plan. He remembered that his dad owned a raccoon coat back at home and he might be able to give it to Petey Bellows but it has an exchange. He wants Polly Espy. He thought that she is the perfect girl to be his wife. She has beauty; she is graceful and has right manners. Only, she is dumb. But at the back of the narrator's mind, he thought that it would be easier to make a dumb girl smart than to make an ugly lady beautiful.

Petey agreed with the deal. After all, they are going steady yet they only go out and date but not yet anything serious. He gave Petey the coat and Petey happily wore it.

When the narrator first dated with Polly Espy, he taught her about logic. For five nights, all that they have been talking about is LOGIC. Polly actually enjoyed the different fallacies being discussed by the narrator. When the narrator reviewed Polly Espy about what they have been lecturing, Polly has been very good in recalling the different fallacies.

When the narrator told Polly Espy, that he loves her, Polly just answered with the different fallacies that the narrator has been teaching her. The narrator told her that he doesn't have to apply the fallacies all the time in her everyday life since these fallacies are only taught inside a four-walled room. Polly Espy still did not listen and continued to answer by using different more fallacies. Then Polly Espy told the narrator that she is going to get steady with Petey Bellows. The narrator that why of all people, Polly Espy would get steady with someone like Petey Bellows. He seems to have no plans in life. Then Polly Espy told him that he wants to go steady with Petey Bellows because Petey Bellows has a Raccoon coat.

"my chEmicAL rOmAncE"

My chemical romance is one of my favorite bands. And I know nit only me, but hundreds of people idolize this band. They really make great songs. My favorite songs of the band are the song titled “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “Famous Last Words”. These songs are really amazing.

My chemical romance is an American rock band formed in 2001. The members as of today are Gerard Way, Frank Iero, Ray Toro, Mikey Way, and Bob Bryar, who replaced original drummer Matt Pelissier.

The band was formed by frontman Gerard Way and ex-drummer Matt Pelissier around a week after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Gerard had witnessed the planes crashing into the World Trade Center. It influenced his life to the extent that he decided to start a band. Gerard wrote the song "Skylines and Turnstiles" to express his feelings about September 11th. Shortly thereafter, Ray Toro was called up and asked to join the band because at the time Gerard couldn't sing and play the guitar at the same time.

The first recording sessions were done in Matt's attic, where the songs "Our Lady of Sorrows" (then called "Bring More Knives") and "Cubicles" were recorded. Mikey Way, the younger brother of Gerard, loved the demo so much that he decided to join the band.

My Chemical Romance was signed with Eyeball Records and played in the same room as Pencey Prep and Thursday. It was there that the band met Frank Iero, the lead vocalist and guitarist for Pencey Prep. After Pencey Prep broke up in 2001 or 2002, Frank became a guitarist for My Chemical Romance, just days before the band's debut album was recorded.

Three months after the formation of the band they recorded their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, subsequently released in 2002 on Eyeball Records. Despite only joining the band a few days before the album recording sessions began, Frank Iero played guitar on two of the tracks, one of them being "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville".

In 2003, the band signed a deal with Reprise Records. Following a tour with Avenged Sevenfold the band began work on their second album, entitled Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Released in 2004, the album went platinum within a year. The band released three singles from the album: "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)", "Helena" and "The Ghost of You".

It was during this time that the band replaced their drummer, Matt Pelissier with Bo Bryar, after they went to Japan in July 2004. The true nature of Pelissier's departure was due to an argument with band member Ray Toro or as a result of mistakes made by the drummer during live performances.

At the start of 2005, the band was directly supported on the first ever Taste of Chaos tour, and was also the opening act for Green Day on the American Idiot tour. Later that year MCR co-headlined and headlined their own tour with Alkaline Trio and Reggie and the Full Effect, around the US.

"whAt a UP studEnt is nOT"

Most of the people say that UP students are smart and intelligent. Others, if they hear the school UP, their first impressions to the UP students are intelligent. Some think that UP students are “Mad Geniuses”! But actually, we are just like the other students in different schools. UP students are just given quality education and advanced education. That is why most people say or think that UP students are mad geniuses.

UP students are not the most intelligent people in the country or in the world. We are just normal students just like other students in school. UP students are just considered intelligent students because UP students are chosen students and are students given the privileged to study in a school that has a very good or should I say high quality education.
UP students are scholars and they are paid by the taxes of the Filipino workers.

UP students are not students that just study all the time and runs his/her life by just studying and knowing different facts that are needed under the sun. UP students are just normal students who studies during tests. UP students also play different games. UP students also play and participate in different sports and activities. As the saying goes “All work, No play makes one dull”.

Another thing is that UP students are free, very free indeed. UP students are given a lot of freedom. That is why in our UP oblation, the oblation is naked because it symbolizes our freedom.

UP students are also students who respect other students from other schools. UP students are so because all of us UP students came from different schools. We also know that we are given advanced education and we are humble being UP students given the privilege to study in this kind of school.

Mostly, UP students are not shameful. During the first day of classes, I already had a friend in the school. I even had friends in the other different year levels. They greeted me and welcomed me in the school well. UP students are also friendly. Even if I don’t know some students during my first day, they talk to me and make friends with me. Some Up students even told me that if you are in UP, you should not be shameful because you will not succeed in UP if you are a shameful type of person. During my elementary years, I was very shameful. I don’t even share my talents and keep them in me when I was not yet in UP. But know I’m in UP, I learned not to be shameful and I learned how to communicate more with people around me. I learned also to share what I have like my talents. I know show the people what I am and what really lies in me. I know show them the real Paul they see standing right before them. And I am not ashamed of what they say about me and what they think about me. I am proud to show to them who I am.

"Ran fEvEr"

During my elementary years, I don’t usually go to the internet café and play different games. What I know to play was the game called “Counter-Strike” and “Star craft”. I usually play games that are offline. I hear people talking about different games like Ragnarok, Gunbound, and many other games that are famous and that are online.

When I was 1st year, my friends taught me how to play the game “Gunz”. This was the first online game I ever played in my whole life. When we got bored to this game, they played the game “DOTA” which was very famous game in most of the internet café’s in the school and in our place. My friends encouraged me to play the game with them. At first, I don’t like to play the game with them because I find it confusing. Then, I got interested to play the game because I got bored of playing the old game I used to play. I first watched them how they play the game. Then they taught me the game. The first people I played with this game were Levi, John Paul and Samuel. The first hero I’ve chosen was Leshrac the Malicious. I really find the game confusing at first and I didn’t really had fun playing that game with them that time. But most of my friends play that game; I just played with them even if I don’t have much fun playing the game. Then I learned the game and understood it clearly and I had fun playing it with them.

During summer, another game which was online was introduced to me by my friends. The game they introduced to me was “RAN Online”. I didn’t really find the game nice at first, but when my friends always encourage me to play it, I play the game usually and I really had fun playing it. For me, among all the games I have played, it is my favorite game. You can let your character level up and you can have different cool skills. You can also chat with different gamers around the Philippines. Almost everyday I play the game. Then I got addicted to the game. Most of the time, I spend 10 hrs in the internet café playing the game with my friends. I really was addicted to the game. I’m playing the game almost a year already. When school started, I introduced the game to my classmates and schoolmates. They had fun playing the game and also got addicted. We play the game in the internet café’s in school during dismissal and during Saturdays and Sundays. Ran fever spread all through out the Philippines. Most of the people in the internet café I play have costumers playing the game. In the Philippines, about a thousand gamers play this game. There are even players who don’t sleep because they want to play the game all day and all night. They want to be one of the top ten players of the game in the Philippines. It’s really a lot of fun.

When I was a grade 5 student, I’m not that interested in the sport called “Badminton”.
During summer, there was a badminton tournament held in our place and my mother told asked me if I’d like to join. Since I was interested in that sport, I registered my self and joined the tournament.

Weeks before the tournament, my friends were practicing playing badminton. I joined them and I really had fun. Since then, I got more and more interested in the game. I asked my mother to buy me a badminton racket and a shuttle cock so I can practice playing the sport. Every morning at 6:00 am, I watch the old people playing badminton and I’ve learned different strategies from them. As I watch them playing, I really pay attention on how they hold the racket and how they position the shuttle cock. I also watch how they put force and how their foot works. I do this everyday and I try what I learned from them when I start to play the sport. When the tournament came, my partner and I played. Unfortunately, we weren’t too good yet.

After the tournament, I didn’t stop learning about the sport. It challenged me to learn more the sport. When classes started, I can’t play anymore in the morning. But it didn’t stop me from learning more about the sport. I play the sport during Saturdays. Then, I improved in playing the sport. One day, one of the old people invited me to play with them. When I played with them, they found out that I play well in that sport. They told me to play with them every morning during Saturdays. That time, I was so happy and I thought to myself that this could be my chance to learn more and improve my skills in playing the sport. So, every morning, they already let me play with them. I bring with me every Saturday morning my badminton racket. We play for about 3 hours and each person playing about 3 games everyday. After playing, I go home and rest . Playing with them is really hard and challenging. I really improved a lot because of there help. They taught me different strategies and techniques. They thought me how to smash, drop shot, serve, and many more stuff. They also thought me the rules of the game and how to be an umpire.

Now, I often join badminton games in school and in our place. I also play a lot with my friends in our place. And even if I know a lot already about the game, I won’t stop learning more and try my best to be the best even if it’s hard to be the best. My determination led me to become a good player in this sport and I know that I have a lot to learn about this game to be considered best. And I know I can do and achieve it if I trust myself.
